American Legion Baseball

American Legion Baseball is designed to give young men an opportunity to develop athletic skills, personal fitness, leadership qualities, and to have fun. Overseen by American Legion Baseball District 4 Chairman Russell Kolins who oversees programs in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean, and Salem County. Nabb-Leslie Post 82 contributes to youth athletics by sponsoring teams in Millville Babe Ruth and Millville National Cal Ripken League.

High School Oratorical Scholarship Program

The Oratorical Scholarship Program is a Constitutional speech contest developed to aid adolescents in personal development, and instill a better knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States in high school students. The contest offers scholarships to supplement the pursuit of higher education.

Overseen by Oratorical Program District 5 Chairman Russell Robinson who oversees the program in Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, and Salem County and can be reached at (609)645-8542.

 

 

Boys State

American Legion Boys State

American Legion Boys State is among the most respected educational programs of government instruction for high school students. Participants are selected by local American Legion posts and each participant becomes a part of the operation of his local, county, and state government. Congratulations to the 2017 Boys State Delegates: Tayon Conyers, Tyler Vandemark, and David Crain. They represented Post 82 and Millville Senior High School at the American Legion New Jersey Boys State program at Rider University in June. Post 82 would also like to thank Governor Christie (Jersey Boys State Alumnus ‘79) and the state legislature for passing a bill permitting these students to receive college credit for completing the program.

American Legion Color Guard

The American Legion Color Guard leads parades, participates in formal ceremonies, and renders honors for the deceased. The American Legion Color Guard primarily consists of American Legion and S.A.L members.
